1   그런즉 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요 은혜를 더하게 하려고 죄에 거하겠느냐
2   그럴 수 없느니라 죄에 대하여 죽은 우리가 어찌 그 가운데 더 살리요
3   무릇 그리스도 예수와 합하여 1)세례를 받은 우리는 그의 죽으심과 합하여 1)세례를 받은 줄을 알지 못하느냐
4   그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 1)세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라
5   만일 우리가 그의 죽으심과 같은 모양으로 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활과 같은 모양으로 연합한 자도 되리라
6   우리가 알거니와 우리의 옛 사람이 예수와 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 것은 죄의 몸이 죽어 다시는 우리가 죄에게 종 노릇 하지 아니하려 함이니
7   이는 죽은 자가 죄에서 벗어나 의롭다 하심을 얻었음이라
8   만일 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었으면 또한 그와 함께 살 줄을 믿노니
9   이는 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨으매 다시 죽지 아니하시고 사망이 다시 그를 주장하지 못할 줄을 앎이로라
10   그가 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그가 살아 계심은 하나님께 대하여 살아 계심이니
11   이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 살아 있는 자로 여길지어다
12   그러므로 너희는 죄가 너희 죽을 몸을 지배하지 못하게 하여 몸의 사욕에 순종하지 말고
13   또한 너희 지체를 불의의 무기로 죄에게 내주지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아난 자 같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 무기로 하나님께 드리라
14   죄가 너희를 주장하지 못하리니 이는 너희가 법 아래에 있지 아니하고 은혜 아래에 있음이라

1   What should we say? Should we keep on sinning, so that God's wonderful kindness will show up even better?

2   No, we should not! If we are dead to sin, how can we go on sinning?

3   Don't you know that all who share in Christ Jesus by being baptized also share in his death?

4   When we were baptized, we died and were buried with Christ. We were baptized, so that we would live a new life, as Christ was raised to life by the glory of God the Father.

5   If we shared in Jesus' death by being baptized, we will be raised to life with him.

6   We know that the persons we used to be were nailed to the cross with Jesus. This was done, so that our sinful bodies would no longer be the slaves of sin.

7   We know that sin doesn't have power over dead people.

8   As surely as we died with Christ, we believe we will also live with him.

9   We know that death no longer has any power over Christ. He died and was raised to life, never again to die.

10   When Christ died, he died for sin once and for all. But now he is alive, and he lives only for God.

11   In the same way, you must think of yourselves as dead to the power of sin. But Christ Jesus has given life to you, and you live for God.

12   Don't let sin rule your body. After all, your body is bound to die, so don't obey its desires

13   or let any part of it become a slave of evil. Give yourselves to God, as people who have been raised from death to life. Make every part of your body a slave that pleases God.

14   Don't let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God's kindness and not by the Law.

9   그러면 어떠하냐 우리는 1)나으냐 결코 아니라 유대인이나 헬라인이나 다 죄 아래에 있다고 우리가 이미 선언하였느니라
10   기록된 바 ㄴ)의인은 없나니 하나도 없으며
11   깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없고
12   다 치우쳐 함께 무익하게 되고 선을 행하는 자는 없나니 하나도 없도다
13   ㄷ)그들의 목구멍은 열린 무덤이요 ㄹ)그 혀로는 속임을 일삼으며 그 입술에는 독사의 독이 있고
14   ㅁ)그 입에는 저주와 악독이 가득하고
15   ㅂ)그 발은 피 흘리는 데 빠른지라
16   파멸과 고생이 그 길에 있어
17   평강의 길을 알지 못하였고
18   ㅅ)그들의 눈 앞에 하나님을 두려워함이 없느니라 함과 같으니라




19   우리가 알거니와 무릇 율법이 말하는 바는 율법 아래에 있는 자들에게 말하는 것이니 이는 모든 입을 막고 온 세상으로 하나님의 2)심판 아래에 있게 하려 함이라
20   그러므로 율법의 행위로 그의 앞에 의롭다 하심을 얻을 육체가 없나니 율법으로는 죄를 깨달음이니라

9     better off f) than the Gentiles? No, it doesn't! Jews, as well as Gentiles, are ruled by sin, just as I have said.

10   The Scriptures tell us, "No one is acceptable to God!

11   Not one of them understands or even searches for God.

12   They have all turned away and are worthless. There isn't one person who does right.

13   Their words are like an open pit, and their tongues are good only for telling lies. Each word is as deadly as the fangs of a snake,

14   and they say nothing but bitter curses.

15   These people quickly become violent.

16   Wherever they go, they leave ruin and destruction.

17   They don't know how to live in peace.

18   They don't even fear God."

19   We know that everything in the Law was written for those who are under its power. The Law says these things to stop anyone from making excuses and to let God show that the whole world is guilty.

20   God doesn't accept people simply because they obey the Law. No, indeed! All the Law does is to point out our sin.

1   예수 그리스도의 종 바울은 사도로 부르심을 받아 하나님의 복음을 위하여 택정함을 입었으니
2   이 복음은 하나님이 선지자들을 통하여 그의 아들에 관하여 성경에 미리 약속하신 것이라
3   그의 아들에 관하여 말하면 육신으로는 다윗의 1)혈통에서 나셨고
4   성결의 영으로는 2)죽은 자들 가운데서 부활하사 능력으로 하나님의 아들로 선포되셨으니 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도시니라
5   그로 말미암아 우리가 은혜와 사도의 직분을 받아 그의 이름을 위하여 모든 이방인 중에서 믿어 순종하게 하나니
6   너희도 그들 중에서 예수 그리스도의 것으로 부르심을 받은 자니라
7   로마에서 하나님의 사랑하심을 받고 성도로 부르심을 받은 모든 자에게 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 있기를 원하노라

1   From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus.
God chose me to be an apostle, and he appointed me to preach the good news

2   that he promised long ago by what his prophets said in the holy Scriptures.

3-4   This good news is about his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ! As a human, he was from the family of David. But the Holy Spirit a) proved that Jesus is the powerful Son of God, b) because he was raised from death.

5   Jesus was kind to me and chose me to be an apostle, c) so that people of all nations would obey and have faith.

6   You are some of those people chosen by Jesus Christ.

7   This letter is to all of you in Rome. God loves you and has chosen you to be his very own people.
I pray that God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!

8   너희는 그 은혜에 의하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에게서 난 것이 아니요 하나님의 선물이라

 You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. e) This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.

1   이러므로 우리에게 구름 같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니 모든 1)무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 하며
2   믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라
3   너희가 피곤하여 낙심하지 않기 위하여 죄인들이 이같이 자기에게 거역한 일을 참으신 이를 생각하라

1   Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us.

2   We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed to a cross, because he knew that later on he would be glad he did. Now he is seated at the right side e) of God's throne!

3   So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won't get discouraged and give up.

13 이 사람들은 다 믿음을 따라 죽었으며 약속을 받지 못하였으되 그것들을 멀리서 보고 환영하며 또 땅에서는 외국인과 나그네임을 증언하였으니

14 그들이 이같이 말하는 것은 자기들이 본향 찾는 자임을 나타냄이라

15 그들이 나온 바 본향을 생각하였더라면 돌아갈 기회가 있었으려니와

16 그들이 이제는 더 나은 본향을 사모하니 곧 하늘에 있는 것이라 이러므로 하나님이 그들의 하나님이라 일컬음 받으심을 부끄러워하지 아니하시고 그들을 위하여 한 성을 예비하셨느니라

17. 바로가 백성을 보낸 후에 블레셋 사람의 땅의 길은 가까울지라도 하나님이 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 아니하셨으니 이는 하나님이 말씀하시기를 이 백성이 전쟁을 하게 되면 마음을 돌이켜 애굽으로 돌아갈까 하셨음이라

18. 그러므로 하나님이 홍해의 광야 길로 돌려 백성을 인도하시매 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 대열을 지어 나올 때에

19. 모세가 요셉의 유골을 가졌으니 이는 요셉이 이스라엘 자손으로 단단히 맹세하게 하여 이르기를 하나님이 반드시 너희를 찾아오시리니 너희는 내 유골을 여기서 가지고 나가라 하였음이더라

20. 그들이 숙곳을 떠나서 광야 끝 에담에 장막을 치니

21. 여호와께서 그들 앞에서 가시며 낮에는 구름 기둥으로 그들의 길을 인도하시고 밤에는 불 기둥을 그들에게 비추사 낮이나 밤이나 진행하게 하시니

22. 낮에는 구름 기둥, 밤에는 불 기둥이 백성 앞에서 떠나지 아니하니라

17. When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt."

18. So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle.

19. Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear an oath. He had said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place."

20. After leaving Succoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.

21. By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

22. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
